The Naval Air Systems Command intends to place an order against Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-98-G-0037 with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company, P.O. Box 516, St Louis, MO 63166-0516, to convert an E10 aircraft to a F/A-18E weapons separation aircraft. MDC is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 aircraft, and is the only known firm possessing adequate existing knowledge, facilities, tooling, and special test equipment to convert the E10 aircraft to a F/A-18E weapons separation aircraft in a timely manner.
