71 -- OFFICE FURNITURE POC Joseph Gregory (202)283-1135 or Barry Kearns (202) 283-1341 The Internal Revenue Service ("IRS") intends to enter into a sole source contract with the Mortgage Bankers Association of America ("MBAA") for the purchase of used office furniture. In March 2000, the IRS intends to occupy the office space currently leased by MBAA at 1125 15th Street, Washington, DC. MBAA offered to sell its furniture in that office space to the IRS for a price below market value. Such furniture includes, but is not limited to, chairs, desks, and filing cabinets. Acquisition of this furniture will allow the IRS to avoid purchase, moving and installation costs of new furniture. This acquisition is being conducted under FAR Subpart 13.5 "Test Procedures for Certain Commercial Items."
