10 -- WEAPONS-PERSONAL SECURITY/ASSAULT RIFLE SOL No solicitation DUE 121799 POC Linda White, Contract Specialist, 410-278-2998/FAX: 410-278-2980 The Research, Developnment & Acquisition Office, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland is seeking to identify potential sources who can provide small arms weapons for use in military tactical operations in all environments. It is preferred that these hand-held weapons be semi-automatic and magazine-feed with a weight not to exceed six (6) pounds. The ideal weapon sought will have a total length from butt stock to barrel end not to exceed 28" when ready for use and less than 20" with stock folded/collapsed. The weapon should also be capable of effectively engaging targets when fired by the operator without visual augmentation devices from a range of up to 300 meters. This notice is not to be considered a solicitation; no solicitation exists. All responses received by the government by the response deadline will be reviewed to determine whawt firms have weapon systems that meet or exceed the foregoing requirement.
