TACOM intends, through an upcoming Solicitation #DAAE07-00-R-L001 to establish an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (ID-IQ) contract for the armoring of commercial vehicles to protect against rifle fire (including armor piercing) and grenade blast. Specific protection features would be user-selectable and separately priced. Commercial vehicles will be provided as GFP to the contractor, who will then modify the vehicles to meet the protection performance requirement. At this time, TACOM desires industry response to our Market Survey, and feedback on our DRAFT Statement of Work. To obtain the document, see the hyperlink within this notice. The actual solicitation DAAE07-00-R-L001 is planned for release in December 1999, and a Presolicitation Notice similar to this will be contemporaneously posted to the CBD. A Best-Value source selection will be conducted under FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. Multiple awards are envisioned. Resulting contract(s) would run for 5 years. Answers appropriate for public dissemination will be posted, either: a) on the same website as the DRAFT, if the RFP has not been released, or b) as an appendix to the RFP, once it's released.
