EXTENSION TO THE DEFENSE RESEARCH ENGINEERING CONTRACT DAHC94-96-D-0009 The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization, DISN Administration Branch DITCO-DTS23, Scott AFB IL, intends to issue a sole source contract extension to the Defense Research Engineering Network IDIQ contract DAHC94-96-D-0009 to AT&T Government Markets, 1120 20th Street, N.W., Suite 502, Washington, DC 20036. The contract shall be extended from July 2001 through July 2002 with a one year option from July 2002 through July 2003. DREN operates in direct support of the HPCMP mission to modernize the high end high performance computing capability, used by the DoD Science and Technology, and Developmental Test and Evaluation communities in order to incorporate technological advantage into superior weapons, warfighting capabilities, and related support systems, and to accomplish this advantage more rapidly and affordably with reduced risks to human life and optimize system performance. This extension is a continuation and extension of work performed by AT&T under contract DAHC94-96-D-0009 which was competitively awarded July 12, 1996. This contract extension will provide a continuation of support and will allow for an orderly and less disruptive transition to the "new DISN" or to award a new contract in 2003 utilizing full and open competitive procedures.
