Home hemodialysis supplies are required by the Government pursuant to this solicitation/contract; the supplies shall comply with the follow descriptions on a brand name or equal basis. Supplies shall be compatible with this equipment as appropriate. The items listed above are identified with a catalogue description; such identification is intended to be descriptive, but not restrictive, and is to indicate the quality and characteristics of products that will be satisfactory. Bids offering "equal" products product (including products of the brand name manufacturer other than the one described by number) will be considered for award if such products are clearly identified in the proposals and are determined by the Government to meet fully salient characteristics of the item. Offerors must provide sufficient literature/description of the items if offering other than brand name in order to determine equality of the product(s). Delivery shall be FOB Destination of Veterans Administration hemodialysis patients in Northern California. This will involve approximately six various addresses. Emergency deliveries (to be completed within 24 hours of placement of an order) may be required on occasion. In these events, the Government will absorb reasonable additional shipping charges; i.e., for commercial overnite delivery service. Period of Performance: January 1, 2000 through December 31, 2000 plus two option years. See Note 1.
