Research Service, Midwest Area, Barley and Malt Lab, Madison, WI has
the requirement for a Joe White Micromalting Unit. This is a combined
synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No. 5114-0-6011 is being
issued as a Request for Quotation. This solicitation document and
incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal
Acquisition Circular 97-14. The solicitation is solicited as a Sole
Source, Brand Name requirement. Standard Industrial Classification Code
3826 with a corresponding size standard of 500 employees applies to
qualify as a small business. The Joe White Micromalt Unit shall be
complete with software, computer, printer, video display, 60 cycle 220
volt single phase, 16 amp power requirement; the PC will have a
minimum 32 MB RAM and minimum 3.2 GB hard drive, CD Rom, WIN 95, Office
97 and PC-Anywhere 8.0 Dos Wind CD. The video display will be 15"
minimum SVGA. System will include an uninteruptable power supply for
the PC Operation. Includes operation manual. Micromalt unit for
duplication of the malt process. All steps accomplished in the Joe
White Micromalt Unit. Complete Documentation and control of the malting
process. Including one set of standard 8x 1 kg. Containers. The unit
must be Y2K compatible. Interested offerors should submit a price for
Contract Line Item No. 0001 Joe White Micromalt Unit, with Windows 95
Compatible Program, 1 each. Contract Line Item 0002 Stainless Steel
Containers, 32 x 250 gram nominal capacity, 1 set. Contract Line Item
0003 Estimated air freight costs to Madison WI location. Delivery of
the equipment shall be within 18-20 weeks after receipt of the purchase
order and shall be delivered to: USDA-ARS-MWA, Barley and Malt Lab, 501
N. Walnut Street, Madison WI 53705. Price will include everything

equipment (at least one year parts and labor). Offer must include a 30
