The Defense Supply Center, in conjunction with Ogden Air Logistics Center, is seeking sources for the procurement of Landing Gear Bushings delivered just in time to meet production requirements. These bushings must be delivered to the Landing Gear Repair Facility within two working days from the time the order is initiated. This procurement will be limited to small businesses. The purpose of this solicitation is to establish an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity, multi-vendor contract for the fast, reliable, and lean supply of replacement bushing kits. A kit is comprised of replacement bushings machined to the size specified in the kit order. It may contain a single bushing or it can have several bushings making a single kit. Each kit is ordered for a specific, aircraft landing gear component. Bushings shall be made in accordance with the government provided technical data. The dimensions on the individual bushings will be modified by the ordering document to match the holes in the individual landing gear components. The materials to be used include, but are not limited to, the following types of materials: -- Bronze -- Steel (including Heat Treated Steel) -- Aluminum-bronze -- Beryllium-copper -- Nickel-aluminum-bronze These bushings will be used in, but not limited to, military aircraft such as the B-52, B-1, B-2, A-10, C-5, F-15, F-16, and T-38. An industry day will be conducted at the Ogden Air Logistics Center, Hill AFB, UT on December 7, 1999 to further discuss this proposed solicitation. This industry day will focus on the technical aspects of the acquisition. Companies wishing to participate should provide Ms Moeglein with a list of attendees, in order to arrange for installation access.
