E-MAIL: Ed Casswell, ed.casswell@ssa.gov. The Social Security Administration (SSA) is soliciting quotations for the purchase and installation of Northern Telecom, Inc. (NTI) Intelligent Peripheral Equipment (IPE) modules to provide telephone service. The telephone service will be for two sites near the SSA Headquarters buildings at 6401 Security Boulevard, Baltimore, Maryland. The sites will be temporary quarters while buildings throughout the SSA main campus are being renovated. The use of IPE_s will provide SSA components the same telephone and voice mail services that they are utilizing in their current locations. In addition, IPE will allow users to retain their existing direct-inward-dial numbers since services will continue from the SSA Headquarters_ NTI SL-100. Each location should be equipped for 300 lines. The solicitation document will be issued as request for quotation (RFQ) Number SSA-RFQ-00-0426. The RFQ will be posted on EPS at http://www.eps.gov. A written RFQ will not be issued. The RFQ will be for commercial items/services andprepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in the RFQ.
