richard.hague@med.va.gov. The Portland VA Medical Center is seeking
commercially available services to provide the reprocessing of
Sequential Compression Devices (SCD Sleeves) collected from the
Portland VA Medical Center by an FDA approved and regulated company.
The Portland VA Medical Center estimates approximately 140 pairs per
month of SCD sleeves within the 3 various sizes (S, M, L). The
contractor must comply in all respects with the Medical Center Policy
(MCM 0-60). Contractor must provide the necessary personnel,
instructions, training and supplies to enable the VA Medical Center
staff to properly collect and store the SCD sleeves prior to collection
by the contractor. Contractor shall collect the SCD sleeves once every
other week and return the reprocessed and repackaged SCD sleeves to
the VA Medical Center, Portland, within 30 days of collection from the
VA Medical Center. Contractor shall clean, disinfect, and package each
device in accordance with ANSI/AAMIISO standard 11135-1994 and
ANSI/AAMI standard ST24-1992 in an ISO 9001 registered facility.
Contractor shall also provide a device monitoring system that will
insure that no device is processed for reuse more than 20 times.
Contractor shall provide reports as specified each month which document
the nature, frequency, and results of all quality assurance testing
performed on the SCD sleeves during the past month that relates to the
contractor's reprocessing and repackaging of the Portland VA Medical
Center devices. Services shall be provided for the period of January 1,
2000 through June 30, 2000. All interested parties are invited to
