and Biological Chemical Command intends to conduct negotiations with
and award a contract to Blodgett Combi, 55, Boyer Circle, Williston, Vt
05495-1440, on a basis of other than full and open competition
reference FAR 6.302-1(a) for Second Generation Hatchable Oven: Blodgett
Combi COS-5H single cavity hatchable oven to develop and engineer
current Blodgett Combi Model COS-5H used by the U.S. Navy to meet the
physical and operating constraints required for submarine service.
Modularize and harden the existing Model COS-5H for knockdown
capability in order to fit through the 28-inch diameter hatch for
interior assembly. Redesign for a submarine environment with vaportight
sealed electronics and connector assemblies for reliable performance.
Design oven with controls to conserve energy and water aboard the
submarine. Oven shall also have "stacked" dual cavity assembly for use
on larger ships. Oven shall be designed for 440 volt, 3 phase electric
service. Provide all installation maintenance and operating
instructions and manuals. In addition, provide videocassette
instruction on service, maintenance, and cooking with the combi steamer
oven. Oven shall be covered by a twelve-month warranty effective upon
oven installation aboard a U.S. Navy submarine. Oven shall be delivered
to U.S. Army Natick SBCCOM for inspection and functional testing before
acceptance and shipment to submarine for installation. Blodgett Combi
has designed food service equipment, specifically for the U.S. Navy to
tight design requirements. The equipment has already been manufactured
;and the design is being upgraded for submarines. The proposal was
originally submitted by Blodgett because of their kn owledge,
experience, and awareness of equipment problems unique to Naval
vessels. No soliciatation document is available. See Note 22. Note 22
