The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate a sole-source simplified acquisition with Ascom Hasler Mailing Systems, Inc., 19 Forest Parkway, Shelton, CT 06484 to renew the rental of the following postage meters: (1) model# 17563, and (36) model# 16463. The mailing equipment is located at various sites nationwide. The period of performance shall be for one year beginning January 1, 2000 through December 31, 2000. Ascom Hasler Mailing Systems, Inc. is the only known source that can provide postage meters that are compatible with the existing Ascom Hasler mail metering/inserting machine system owned by SSA. Interested parties must respond to this publication within 7 calendar days from the date of this publication. No telephone requests will be honored. This is not a request for quotation or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Request for copies of a solicitation in response hereto will not be honored or acknowledged.
