The system of which this equipment is part is identified as a selected critical system in accordance with the SSN688 Class Submarine System Safety Program Plan. The kits must be installed according to NAVSEA Drawing 6818073. COMNAVSUBLANT requires eight (8) kits so they can meet their installation schedule and complete the installation of SHIPALT 3948D on the SSN-688 Class submarines.
