The U.S. Geological Survey intends to enter into non-competitive negotiations with Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (ESRI) of Redlands, CA, to purchase Central Site Support Services (including the provision of media kits) for new and existing GIS software. This support will provide for the technical support of new and existing GIS software, the authorization to duplicate and distribute new software and upgrades, and the purchase of additional media kits. In addition, these services will provide for limited access to ESRI through telephone user assistance through each identified site. It is intended these services will support currently installed software acquired from our existing contracts with ESRI and new purchases from ESRI through their GSA schedule contract. ESRI is the only source for technical support and authorization for the rights to duplicate and redistribute their proprietary products. A contract with one base year and four option years to commence on April 1, 2000 is anticipated. Firms which believe they can provide the above are invited to submit an affirmative response within 45 days of the publication date of this notice in accordance with numbered Note 22. An affirmative response shall include literature, brochures, and other such information which demonstrates the vendor's ability to provide the required Central Site Support Services.
