Clutz (301) 619-2395 The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) intends to award a contract on a sole-source basis to Getinge/Castle Inc., Rochester, NY pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. This action is being pursued on a sole-source basis because the Government believes that Getinge/Castle is the only contractor with the technical expertise to maintain the prototype, Model 4533 sterilizers specially built by Getinge/Castle for the US Army Medical Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID). Getinge/Castle does not sell all parts required for maintenance of the sterilizers to third party vendors. USAMRAA intends to award this requirement under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The period of performance is for a base period of 12 months and four 12 month option periods.
