Commerce/International Trade Administration's Special American Business
Internship Training Program (SABIT) proposes to negotiate on a
competitive basis for an individual to market the SABIT grant Program
and to gather and record feedback from SABIT alumni. The contract will
begin in December 1999 and end in November 2000. The contractor shall
have the following skills: (1) Knowledge of marketing and advertising
strategies and ability to draft and precent marketing materials to the
business community, (2) Knowledge of history, government, demographics,
and policies in the NIS, (3) Familiarity with technical assistance
programs to the New Independent States, (4) Strong public speaking
skills, (5) Ability to perform liaison functions between various
commercial organizations (including but not limited to associations,
state development agencies, world trade centers, and the business
community) and the SABIT Program. (6) Strong organizational, in
particular, the ability to organize, plan and coordinate logistics
involved in marketing the SABIT grant program to targeted U.S. industry
sectors, (7) Strong Administrative skills, (8) Strong intercultural
communication skills, (9) Ability to stick to deadlines, (10)
Flexibility to adjust marketing strategy if additional opportunities
become available, (11) Ability to prioritize activities, (12)
Familiarity with the Internet. The proposed Marketing contractor shall
implement the contractor as follows: In coordination with the SABIT
Director, develop an annual marketing strategy to market the SABIT
Program. This strategy will be dependent upon the opening and closing
dates of the Federal Regiser Notice. Marketing will be targeted toward
the U.S. business community, multipliers, and will inlclude but not
limited to; mass mailings, e-mails, list-servs. conferences, trade
shows, one-on-one meetings, association meetings, and other fora.
