Dept of Commerce/NOAA/NWS/Office of Hydrology intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Rodger Hoekstra San Antonio, TX, to provide realtime operational support and operational training for the Hydrometeorologic Automated Data System. (HADS) The Office of Hydrology is responsible for providing realtime data products consisting primarily of rainfall amounts and river stage values to thirteen (13) National Weather Service River Forecast Centers and all 121 Weather Service Forecast Offices. These products are made available by the Hydrometeorologic Automated data System and are used in daily river forecasting and provide critical realtime information for the issuance of flash flood and major river basin flood warnings. HADS data is also required for new dynamic applications being implemented within the scope of the modernization of the NWS. The process of adding new data sites and maintaining the current data sites in this network requires a detailed knowledge of the methods and techniques employed by the Data collection Platform owners in the programming of their environmental sensing equipment.
