Commerce/International Trade Administration/SABIT Program promotes
cooperation between U. S. and Russian government agencies and private
sector organizations for a managing specialized program in
environmental Technologies to train managers, scientists, engineers and
consultants from Russia and the New Independent States. There will be
three (3) sessions on the following topics. 1. Environmental
Technologies the Mining Industry January 15 -- February 26, 2000, 2.
Environmental Technologies in the Pulp and Paper Industry April 1- May
13, 2000 3. Environmental Technologies for Air Pollution Control June
10 -- July 22, 2000. The Training Program will consist of three (3)
six-week training sessions with approximately seventeen to twenty
participants each. The Department of Commerce will provide two weeks of
orientation and training for each of the Training sessions. Private
sector companies will provide the remaining four-week portion of the
Training Sessions for each group, with SABIT overseeing all training
and program development. SABIT will hire an individual to serve as the
facilitator for the Training Program. It is anticipated that the
contract will begin in early January 2000 and continue until July 2000.
The Facilitator will travel with each of the groups throughout their
six-week Training Sessions. The Facilitator may be required to provide
written translations of program materials. Applicants must meet the
following qualification requirement: 1. Knowledge of history,
government, demographics, and policies in Russia and the NIS. 2.
Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, in Russian. 3.
Ability to perform liaison functions among various organizations
involved in the SABIT Environmental Technologies Program. 4 Strong
organizational skills in particular ability to organize, plan and
coordinate logistics involved in supervising a group of 17-20
Participants, including arranging ground transportation, lodging, and
domestic air travel if necessary. 5. Strong administrativeskills. 6.
Strong intercultural communication skills. 7. Strong public speaking
ability. 8. Assertive personality with the ability to handle
challenging situation. Qualified applicants are invited to submit a
