the Contract Specialist via, fischera@monmouth.army.mil. The U.S. Army
CECOM proposes to acquire on a sole source basis with Bolt,Beranek and
Newman, Inc. additional work under Contract No. DAAB07-97-C-D606. This
ten month effort will include the delivery of a tested Multimedia
Support for Mobile Wireless Networks/Density- and Asymmetry-Adaptive
Wireless Networking(MMWN/DAWN) testbed to CECOM and on-site support.
The contractor will provide cross validation of mobile experiments at
Ft. Benning, Ga., implement enhanced support for QoS sessions on the
testbed, develop and implement a clustering mechanism in CPT in the
MMWN/DAWN testbed and participate in the GloMo integrated experiments
and demonstrations. This acquisition is being conducted without full
and open competition since BBN is uniquely qualified to perform the
required task to address the MMWN/DAWN integrated experiments and
enhanced functionality in support of the GloMo integrated mobile field
experiments. BBN is the developer of the MMWN/DAWN algorithms and
protocols, which are to be modeled, validated, fine tuned, integrated
and demonstrated with other GloMo capabilities. BBN has the existing
expertise and experience to perform this parallel task under the
existing contract. This task will ensure the interoperability of BBN
MMWN/DAWN algorithms and protocols with other GloMo systems. This
acquisition will be solicited by a letter RFP to BBN and the
anticipated award date is in the second quarter of FY00. All
responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by
the agency. This letter RFP will be available on the Interagency
Interactive Business Opportunities Page. See Numbered Note 22. Posted
