The Defense National Stockpile Center is soliciting quotes under FAR Part 12 from qualified offerors for sampling and chemical analysis of approximately 600 samples of approximately 600 Government furnished samples of tantalum/columbium source materials (concentrates)as set forth in the solicitation Statement of Work. The Government intends to award an indefinite-quantity, firm fixed price price, service contract to one Contractor. Once an award is made under this contract, the Government will order and pay for the minimum quantity of the base year/period. The option years can only be exercised in writing at the discretion of the Government. Once an option year is exercised the Government is obligated to order the minimum quantity for that specific year. The maximum quantity and any quantity above the minimum quantity are only estimates. Orders between the minimum and maximum quantities are not guaranteed. The term of this contract shall be from the date of award through September 30, 2000, with two option years (October 1, 2000, through September 30, 2001; and October 1, 2001, through September 30, 2002). The number of samples that will be provided by the Government will range from a minimum of 165 to a maximum of 270 per year. The proposed contract is a 100% small business set-aside for small business concerns under SIC code 8734, $5 million size standard.
