Capable of tuning frequencies in the 160 -- 170 MHz band in 2.5 kHz steps. Compatible with both AGC and compandered transmitters (selectable). Built in Marantz audio tape recorder for recording the received audio. Receiver and recorder must be built into a portable, ruggedized briefcase. Internal, rechargeable battery power. Universal AC input. Adaptable to standard (12VDC) vehicle power. Unit must be fully compatiable with the companion transmitters, (Transmitter spec listed below). Unit must be capable of producing good quality, intelligible audio recordings of the audio transmissions of the companion transmitters. Unit must be capable of delivering audio transmissions of typical conversation occouring in various types of public setting which, when recorded, result in good quality, intellgible audio.
