The project consists of the construction of a stone revetment adjacent to the West 37th Street Groin in the Sea Gate community at Coney Island, New York. The revetment will be constructed of several sizes of stone and involve the possible placement of a geo-textile. The Corps of Engineers criteria for stone placement and geo-textile placement will be followed. The project also consists of dredging of sand immediately offshore of the Gravesend Bay side of the Sea Gate Community and the placement of the sand along the Atlantic shore of the Sea Gate Community adjacent to the west side of the West 37th Street groin. This dredging and placement of sand will occur concurrently. Debris on the Gravesend Bay side of the Sea Gate community will also be removed and disposal will be off site. The estimated date for the availability of plans and specifications will be 17 December 1999. The estimated date for bid opening will be 18 January 2000 at 2:00 PM EST. The estimated time for project completion will be 180 days. The SIC Code for this project is 1629 with a size standard of $17 million. The nonrefundable charge for plans and specifications is $35.00 per set. The estimated cost range of the project is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. This solicitation is set aside for small businesses, however, we reserve the right to convert to full and open competition if an insufficient number of small businesses respond to the solicitation.
