E-MAIL: Zalma Ross, zalma.ross@uspto.gov. 1) Question: Could PTO explain the statement on the first page of the CBD notice " Each individual disk component (without mirroring or RAID) must support a workload of at least 50 input/output operations per second in a non cached environment with utilization kept under 30%." Why is this necessary if the vendor is willing to meet or exceed the total overall subsystem performance? Answer: PTO monitors the current production storage subsystem down to the component level. PTO has determined that due to the nature of the software performance on queries against the patent text search database, that individual disk component performance is directly related to the overall system performance.
