COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF DECEMBER 8,1999 PSA#249113 -- GLOBAL DEMILITARIZATION SYMPOSIUM & EXHIBITION The Joint
Ordnance Commanders Group (JOCG) and the National Defense Industrial
Association (NDIA) will conduct the 8th Annual Global Demilitarization
Symposium May 15-18, 2000 at the Coeur d' Alene Resort in Coeur d'
Alene, Idaho. The Symposium continues to support the Department of
Defense's Demilitarization programs and promote development of new
technologies in this arena. The meeting encourages linkages among the
various global efforts directed at solving the challenges of
demilitarization and disposal of energetic materials. Participation by
industry, academia, government, and international personnel is
encouraged to foster cooperation in finding solutions to these
challenges. Papers are solicited for a global exchange of technical
information and ideas on demilitarization, disposal, and resource
recovery and recycling (R3). This forum will focus on the application
of solutions to this global challenge. The Global Demilitarization
Symposium will consist of an Advanced Planning Briefing for Industry
(APBI) on the U.S. Government's initiatives in this area, presentations
on demilitarization methodology/execution, and emerging technologies
