officer via, sisasc@ars.usda.gov. Tree maintenance activity, i.e.
removal and pruning for the fiscal year 2000 with an option to renew
the contract for fiscal year 2001. The contractor shall provide all
labor, supervision, quality control, safety prevention, tools,
materials, equipment and transportation necessary to perform work in
accordance with all Federal, District of Columbia, laws, regulations,
codes, licenses and directives. The contractor shall perform according
to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Standard ANSI
A300-1995 "Tree, Shrub and other Woody Plant Maintenance -- Standard
Practices". The contractor shall demonstrate proper and careful grounds
care to ensure a pleasing appearance is maintained in the area where
tree work is performed. The Contractor shall demonstrate caution to
protect all public buildings facitilites and planted areas. Signage
identifying work areas shall be required protecting Arboretum employees
and the visiting public. All work shall be under the direction and
general supervision of an Arborist(s) certified by the International
Society of Arboriculture, P.O. Box 3129, Champaign, Illinois 61826
-3129 (217-355-9411) who posses verifiable experience and technical
competence in tree physiology, identification, diagnosis of disorders
and current tree care and safety practices in accordance with accepted
industry standards. The contract is a combination firm
fixed-price/indefinite quantity contract. The contract term will be a
base period of one year with one option year. Proposals will be
evaluated on the following criteria: (1) Business shall be of a
predominately arboricultural nature. Provide recommendations from at
least five previous aborecultural jobs of a similar nature. (2) Provide
equipment list on hand to perform task. (3) Provide names of ISA
certified employees and date of certification with copies of
certification identification cards. The proposed contract listed here
is 100 percent small business set-aside. The Government will only
accept offers from small or small disadvantaged business concerns.
