This is a 2-phase project, which involve renovation of existing office space into new laboratory room facilities for Environmental Protective Agency (EPA) at the Federal Building, 536 South Clark Street, Chicago, Illinois. The project includes the construction of two laboratory spaces, biology laboratory with approximately 6100 square feet respectively and an inorganic laboratory with approximately 5700 square feet respectively. Demolition of the existing laboratory/office space will be required. Extensive upgrading of the existing electrical system with new power feeders and the existing HVAC system with a new rooftop air handling unit as well as removal of asbestos containing material is also included. Laboratory casework, fume hoods, equipment hook-ups and service piping are to be installed. Minimum Qualifications: for construction contractor must have successfully completed at least one (1) laboratory project within the last ten (10) years of similar size and complexity. The estimated start date isMarch 1, 2000. The estimated price range for this project is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 1542.
