The Air Armament Center, Eglin AFB, Florida, intends to solicit, and award a Firm-Fixed Price sole source contract to Johnson Controls, Inc., 150 James Drive, Suite 160, St. Rose, LA 70087. This award will be made under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 12, Commercial Acquisitions and FAR part 13.5 Test Program for Certain Commercial items. This award will be for the quarterly, semi-annual and annual preventive maintenance, system testing, trouble-shooting and technical consultation needs of the Eglin Hospital Fire Alarm System. The suggested period of performance will be for one year, to begin upon the day of the actual award and include a potential for up to 4 additional option years. This solicitation acts as notification of intent to interested parties. The solicitation number for this announcement is F08651-00-Q-0374 and is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). In addition to the above-specified duties, the contractor shall also provide interim service, when directed, including, but not limited to, the repair, modification, installation, transfer, and removal of fire alarm system components and devices at the Eglin AFB Hospital. The work will include electrical and control cable pulling services associated with system modifications, and the incorporation of new equipment or devices and other necessary changes required to keep the fire alarm system operational. The existing fire alarm system is a Johnson Controls IFC 2020 system. Due to the proprietary nature of the Johnson Controls fire alarm systems, all service personnel shall have a minimum of two (2) years experience with Johnson Controls IFC 2020 systems and a certificate of training to validate the proficiency of skills necessary to repair and maintain Johnson Controls IFC 2020 systems. Further, the company shall be a licensed Johnson Controls IFC 2020 system distributor. All preventive maintenance and system operating tests and inspections shall comply with the frequencies and levels of detail required by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) for hospitals and ambulatory care, long-term care, and behavioral health care organizations as well as the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Code 72, chapter 7. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for nonpersonal services prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 13.5, as supplemented by additional information included in this notice. This announcement represents the only RFQ format issued. As this solicitation is for the acquisition of nonpersonal services, the Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC Code) for this acquisition is 7382 ($9m).
