The Target Defeat Team, R&T Directorate, Edgewood Chemical and Biological Center (ECBC) is conducting a market survey on existing and developing technologies in commercial and governmental sectors that pertains to smoke pots and smoke pot materials. Specifically, the U.S. Army has a need for a smoke pot and/or smoke pot materials that will provide protective screening in either the UV-VIS-IR, VS-IR, MMW or multispectral regions of the electromagnetic spectrum and continuously generate screening material for 1 minute. ECBC is thereby soliciting white papers from companies or governments on smoke pots and smoke material technologies. White papers will be accepted on current products as well as development programs for such technologies. White papers should contain the following information: -Screening effectivness -Availability -Cost -Environmental/Human impact (Threshold Limit Value, Time Weighted Average, DOD Hazard Class, DOT Hazard Class, Hazardous Waste -Material's percent transmission reduction -Mass weight and volume of pot and material -Smoke material particle size -Smoke efficiency, yield and yield factor -Smoke material mass extinction coefficient -Screening material produced (type, mass continuous rate) There is no commitment on the part of the U.S. Army to award a contract as a result of this notice and there is no intent to pay for any information received.
