A -- FIBERGLASS FRACTURE DYNAMICS SOL N0016700Q0050 POC Brian White (301)227-1867 The Naval Sea Systems Command has tasked the Carderock Division, NSWC to conduct a multi-year program to produce a lower-cost fiberglass bow sonar dome for the New SSN (Virginia Class)Submarine. NSWC has identified a contractor to preform a series of tasks related to this project. Unique analytical tooling has been developed by the contractor, and is an essential part of predicting fracture dynamics in this particular application. The proposed contracting action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of (FAR 6.302 a).
