The Navy requires 888 each filament wound tubes manufactured in accordance with Dahlgren drawing 89002A1120 Rev A and NSWC Crane Statement of Work. The launch tube inside diameter is 83 MM with a wall thickness of 0.10 inches. The overall launch tube length is 27 inches. The aft portion is flared open which provides a female interface for the rocket. The launch tube is constructed using woven rove S-2 glass and Thermal Plastic hot melt resin. Acceptance testing inclusive of destructive tests called out in the drawing will be conducted by NSWC Crane representatives. Delivery of the first 80 each is required F.o.b. Crane, IN within 9 weeks after receipt of contract award. The remaining units shall be delivered at a rate of 80 per month thereafter until the contract is complete. Final inspection and acceptance will be performed at the NSWC Crane. These items will be procured on a sole-source basis from Cytec Fiberite, Havre de Grace, MD in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. As a result of unique processes and materials, no other vendor's components can be substituted without incurring substantial cost to retest the tube.
