16 -- HI INTEGRATION AIR DATA COMPUTER (HIADC) SOFTWARE MODIFICATION SUPPORT SOL N00019-00-Q-0005 DUE 121599 POC Jessica Blackwell, (301) 757-5901, Clare Carmack, Contracting Officer, (301) 757-5919 The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a contract to Marconi Avionics Limited Rochester, England for the update of the software resident in the Hi-Integration Air Data Computer (HIADC), PN 50-155-01, for the UP/VP-3 aircraft. This update provides the required configuration for the UP/VP-3 aircraft on the Allowable Aircraft Identification Code chart. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies and services will satisfy agency requirements. Marconi Avionics is the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the HIADC, and as such, has the requisite knowledge to fulfill the requirement. Therefore, this acquisition shall be negotiated on a sole source basis with Marconi Avionics Limited, Rochester. It is anticipated that a firm-fixed price type Simplified Acquisition Procedure (SAP) order will be awarded. The period of performance is expected to be no more than two months after award, with an anticipated award date of 30 December 1999. This synopsis is published for information purposes only.
