410-762-6008 Request for Information. The USCG ELC is seeking qualified
sources that can provide information pertaining to an Analog Addressble
Fire and Emergency Alarm System for installation on a 378 foot Coast
Guard Cutter. The system must have the following characteristics and
feature: 1. Th alarm system must be capable of using hte following
addressable type detectors: a) Optical smoke, b) Ion chamber smoke, c)
Heat detector and d) Chlorofluorocarbon detector, 2) The alarm system
must be capable of indicating the temperatute of selected compartments
in degrees Fahrenheit and Celsius, 3) Capable of receiving inputs from
maual call points, 4) Capable of assigning addresses to dry contacts,
5) Capable of operation with the detectors arranged in a loop or
string configuration, 6) Capable of handling up to 300 addresses, 7)
The alarm system ust have a protable remote panel capable of reporting,
acknowledge or silencing and initiating alarms, 8) Must have a wirless
remote that provides the following information and capabilities: a)
Alarm type and location, b) Alarm silence/acknowledge and c) Alarm
initiation, 9) The Alarm system must operate o a 110 volt 60 Hertz
power supply, 10) Must have an Uninterupted Power Sypply capable of
operating he system for a minimum of 60 minutes, 11) Must be capable of
using standard shipboard copper wiring, 12) Must be IMO/SOLAR approved,
and 13) Must have ASCII and dry relax contact out puts. The following
information is requested as part of our market research in determining
if there is a commercial item available in the market place that will
meet the Government's need. Therefore interested parties having the
capabilities and expertise required are invited to submit completed
detailed information descussing their capabilities in duplicate not
later than 23DEC99 of the announcement. This is not a Request for
Proposal (RFP). The Government does not intend to pay for the
information solicited . Responses must be concise and be specifically
directed to the requirement mentioned above. Organizations that respond
to the notice must fully demonstate their capabilities to meet hte
requirement and provide adequate detailed data to be evaulated. Send
