C -- A/E DESIGN SERVICES FOR 15 EAST RENOVATION SOL Project 527-323 DUE 011000 POC Jean Ryan, (718) 584-9000,x4313 and Tommy Mui, Engineer, (718) 630-3581 The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York, seeks qualified, licensed, registered Architect/Engineering firms to provide complete design services for Project 527-323, 15 East Renovation. A/E shall prepare complete design development drawings, contract drawings, and specifications for 15 East Renovation. The design involves the relocation of existing functions and modernization of existing 15 East Renovation. Design will include layout upgrades to improve patient privacy with private baths and functional area, upgrade plumbing, electrical, security, and HVAC systems. The nurse's station, offices, and ancilliary areas will be reconfigured to provide a more efficient working environment. A C.I.H. will be needed to survey area to determine if any asbestos will be encountered during construction. Work shall include but not be limited to the following: a detailed cost estimate with impact costs, a field survey of existing space to verify "as-built" drawings, phasing requirements indesign to avoid interruption to the facility, Va criteria and standards incorportated into designs, Mylar and BID documents on disk and hard copy, construction period services, and site visits. A/E will have access to all original VA "as-built" drawings. The construction cost estimate range is $250,000 -- $500,000. Completion time is 120 days.
