This training involves a cooperative effort between the contractor, University of California at San Diego (UCSD) and the NSWC Crane Marine Corps Program Department at Fallbrook, CA. These services are to provide Quality Assurance Training to foreign military students on a recurring basis. A total of 12 different courses currently exist, ranging in duration from 3 to 6 weeks. Most of the courses will be held at the Fleet Training Center, Naval Station San Diego; however, occasionally there may be a requirement for a course to be taught in Cairo, Egypt. These education and training services will be procured on a sole-source basis from the University of California at San Diego in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. UCSD has previously developed course curricula and established a teaming relationship with the MCPD to co-teach the courses. The Navy anticipates entering into a commercial basic ordering agreementwith UCSD covering a 5-year period. Approximately six courses totaling $150K per year are expected.
