The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Regis Technologies, Inc. of Morton Grove, IL for the separation and isolation of Solvent Red 26 Dye from crude mixture provided. 100 g of >99.5% pure Solvent Red Dye to be provided. Product is to be thoroughly vacuum dried to remove traces of solvents and provided in finely powdered or crystalline form. Crude material (~150g) to be provided by NIST under separate cover. Samples of impurity components other than Solvent Red Dye in the crude mixture to be collected as individually as reasonable and provided on a "as is basis." Regis Technologies, Inc. is the only responsible source, due to the unique method for the separation process, which was developed by Regis Technologies. No solicitation will be issued. NIST anticipates awarding a firm fixed priced purchase order on or about 30 December 1999. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. However, all responses received within 15 days after the date of publication of this synopsis, will be considered by the Government. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill this requirement. The anticipated period of performance is 4 -- 6 weeks after receipt of raw material from NIST.
