Development (USAID) Mission to El Salvador intends to compete a
contract with Salvadoran firms or U.S. firms to provide maintenance,
repair and small construction services to all USAID/San Salvador
residences and warehouses as well as the fabrication, repair and
maintenance in the areas of metal, mechanical, electrical and carpentry
work, and all other activities necessary for the preventive and
corrective maintenance of residences, e.g. roof and wall leaks,
humidity in walls and floors, gutter repairs, etc. A Preventive
maintenance program to all residences should be exercised at least
twice a year. The Contractor shall provide all personnel necessary to
perform the work required under the contract. The Contractor will seek
and select, using criteria mutually agreed upon with USAID, a team of
the best qualified personnel available to provide services to USAID on
a full time basis. The Contractor will submit the names and
qualifications of selected personnel to USAID for confirmation. USAID
will request security clearance to the Embassy Security Office. Only
until the receipt of security clearance, the selected personnel may
initiate work. The Contractor will be responsible for complying with
all legal requirements related to personnel benefits and other labor
issues specified by the Salvadoran law, such as health insurance,
vacation, bonus, severance payments, etc. RFP-519-00-004 will be
