USCS intends to procure up to twenty-four (24) Command Control Centers (CCC) from Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC)for the VACIS-II systems purchased from SAIC. Currently the CCC's are housed in recreational vehicles, which are too large for many of the ports. SAIC as the VACIS-II OEM shall design and develop the booths to support the CCC since that have knowledge of the electrical and mechanical requirements to support the equipment. Use of a third party vendor to acquire the CCC's would require negotiation for release of SAIC proprietary data at an additional cost to USCS. It is therefore more cost effective to have SAIC design and implement the CCC's. Customs anticipates the award of a firm fixed priced contract.
