DESCRIPTION: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, has a competitive requirement for a Contractor to fabricate, shop test, deliver, and field test two structural steel lifting beams. Lifting beams are for the intake gantry cranes at Lower Granite and Little Goose Dams. Lifting beams are 23.5 feet long, 3 feet wide, and vary in depth from 1.75 feet at the ends to 3.5 feet at the center. Latching mechanisms are operated by air cylinders with 3 inch bore and 14 inch stroke. Each beam is to be load tested in the shop at 250 tons. Beams are to be shop painted with epoxy paint. Field test at the project sites to insure beams properly slide in the gate slots and that latching mechanisms properly latch and unlatch from items to be lifted. ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION: This is not an invitation for bid, but a notice that a solicitation will be awarded on a Firm Fixed-Price basis. Procurement is 100% set aside for small business.
