The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) will procure the physical & intellectual property assets of the Thermodynamics Research Center (TRC), Texas Engineering Experiment Station, The Texas A&M University System. The acquisition includes the complete collection of databases now associated with TRC, with full rights, as well as the hardware and distribution mechanisms now in place. It is the intent of the Government to award this procurement on a sole source basis under authority of 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1) with Texas Engineering Experiment Station of College Station, Texas. There is no other source of thermophysical property information which can be merged with existing NIST projects and provide the scope of coverage required for NIST programmatic purposes. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NTE $100,000). This synopsis is issued for information only. No competitive solicitation is planned.
