The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corporation (MCC) for the continuation of services on the Environment Data Exchange Network (EDEN) Project for NIST's Software Diagnostics and Conformance Testing Division. This effort is to provide NIST with preparations for and further demonstrations of the Eden Project to be presented by MCC. Demonstrations will include demonstrations for Europeans participating in the 5th Framework Collaboration (European and US agencies) and demonstrations for the State Environmental Data Exchange Strategy (SEDES) collaboration and for the Open Forum on Metadata Registries. The breadth of the demonstrations is to include queries sent not only the original federal sponsor databases, but also queries sent to SEDES state databases. This requirement is an extension of efforts performed under previous Contract No. 50SBNB6C9076. The period of performance is four months. FOB Destination Gaithersburg, MD. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) shall be issued to MCC. MCC is the only company capable of performing this service at this time because MCC has the proprietary software InfoSleuth. It would not be possible for another source to achieve the necessary level of understanding, or develop the necessary software in the time required for the completion of this contract. This is not a request for competitive quotes, and no solicitation document is available. Interested parties should submit a capability statement, to include evidence of their capability to respond to the requirement, no later than the response date above.
