PROCUREMENT ACTION IS AUTHORIZED EXCLUSIVELY AS A SOLE SOURCE WITH THE
NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES (2101 Constitution Ave., N. W.
Washington, D.C. 20418) The service is to study a new scholars program
to encourage post doctoral researchers and recently hired faculty
members to undertake research on topics that are of high priority to
HUD related to urban and regional policy. This contract will fund
information collection, meetings of recognized experts, travel to
meetings, and the production of a report making recomendations to HUD
on the feasibility and scope of a new scholars program. The period of
performance on this sole source procurement is 6 months and the requst
for proposal release date will be on or about January 3, 2000.
Offerors may obtain a copy of the solicitation by submitting a written
request along with two self addressed labels to the above address. No
fax requests will be accepted. HUD posts all required notices of it's
contracting opportunities as indicated at the end of this notice.
Potential offerors who download copies of the solicitation from HUD's
homepage will not automatically receive any amendments to the
solicitation. Offerors are advised to check frequently to see if HUD
has issued any amendments to the solicitation obtained. All amendments
will be posted on, and may be downloaded from HUD's home page
