This project entails hand planting of trees in lowland areas adjacent to or near the Mississippi and Big Muddy Rivers on the Murphysboro Ranger District of the Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois. Area to be planted is 900 acres. The Contractor will be responsible for a) purchasing 63,000 tree seedlings (a mix of cypress, pecan, and oaks), b) providing cold storage facilities to keep seedlings at a temperature between 33-38 degrees Fahrenheit, and c) hand planting all tree seedlings.
