Engineering Requirements (SABER) contract is a firm fixed price
indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity contract to support numerous
maintenance, repair and renovation projects. Individual task orders are
issued against the basic contract to accomplish construction projects,
which are currently undefined. The SABER contractor is required to
furnish all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to design, manage
and accomplish the task orders which may include a variety of trades
such as demolition, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, masonry,
roofing, sheet metal work, painting, abatement and minor road work. The
contractor will be provided space on Keesler AFB to maintain a
management office upon expiration and completion of the current SABER
contract. Should this contract be awarded prior to expiration and
completion of the current SABER contract, the contractor may be
required to obtain office space off base. The Performance Period will
consist of a 12 month Basic Period and four 12-month Option Periods for
a total of 60 months. The guaranteed minimum contract amount for the
life of the contract is $50,000 and will be obligated and applied to
the Basic Period. The unguaranteed maximum contract amount will not
exceed $9,500,000 for the life of the contract. The solicitation will
be issued as an 8(a) set-aside restricted to Region 4 (AL, FL, GA, KY,
MS, NC, SC, TN) in accordance with the new Air Force FAR Supplement
for Basic Source Selection. The Standard Industrial Code is 1542 and
the size standard is $17,000,000. The solicitation package will be
issued in the form of a Request for Proposal (RFP) and will be made
available for downloading from the Internet (EPS Web-site) address
www.eps.gov on approximately 15 Sep 99. The closing date is tentatively
scheduled for 18 Oct 99. SOLICITATION PACKAGES WILL ONLY BE SENT TO
THOSE 8(a) CONTRACTORS LOCATED IN REGION 4 AS IDENTIFIED ABOVE.
PROSPECTIVE CONTRACTORS MUST REGISTER IN THE CENTRAL CONTRACTOR'S
REGISTRATION DATABASE PRIOR TO AWARD OF A GOVERNMENT CONTRACT. OFFERORS
ARE FURTHER ADVISED THAT FAILURE TO REGISTER IN THE DOD CENTRAL
REGISTRACTION DATABASE WILL RENDER YOUR FIRM INELIGIBLE FOR AWARD.
