AIR-Synopsis No. 20193-99, posted to the CBDNet on 13 September 1999,
the Naval Air Systems Command plans on releasing the formal request for
proposal (RFP), N00019-00-R-0130, for the WDU-17/B Warhead Assembly and
Container for the Sidewinder AIM-9M Missile on or around 15 December
1999. The WDU-17/B Warhead Assembly is approximately 15 inches long, 5
inches in diameter, and consists of a PBXN-3 explosive main charge,
booster plates, transfer tube, and titanium rods encapsulated on a
machined aluminum structural element. The technical data package for
the Warhead Assembly is CLASSIFIED CONFIDENTIAL. Refer to the RFP for
specific proposal submission instructions. NAVAIR will only release the
RFP, including all subsequent amendments, over the Internet at the
NAVAIR website: http://www.navair.navy.mil. At the website go to
Business, Doing Business with Us, Open Solicitations to find the RFP.
No telephone or written requests for the RFP will be accepted, except
for the specific Attachments identified in the RFP. It is imperative
that the NAVAIR website be checked on a continuous basis for any new
