Air Force Research Laboratory, Human Effectiveness Directorate, Crew System Interface Division (AFRL/HECV ) and US Army Night Vision & Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) solicits research proposals for an Integrated Panoramic Night Vision Goggle (PNVG). The purpose of this joint service acquisition is to advance the development of night vision goggle technology by addressing specific objectives of both the Air Force and Army. Current NVGs provide a 40 degree field of view (FOV) and AFRL has recently demonstrated two 100 degree FOV concepts. AFRL and NVESD are looking for an innovative NVG system(s) for both fixed wing and rotorcraft aircraft as well as ground personnel that addresses wide field-of-view, laser eye protection, fit/comfort, image quality, integrated symbology/imagery display, field support, ejection/crash/ground egress safety, compatibility with existing systems, supportability, maintainability, producibility reliability, and affordability.
