M -- JOB CORPS SBA ORIENTATION SESSIONS As a matter of policy, the Office of Job Corps encourages competition and seeks to afford opportunities for all qualified firms to compete for contracts to operate Job Corps centers and/or provide Outreach/Admissions and Placement services. Job Corps is particularly interested in extending such opportunities to small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, and small women-owned businesses. Job Corps is sponsoring a series of orientation sessions during the first quarter of 2000, in the following Regional Office cities: Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Kansas City, Dallas, San Francisco and Seattle. These sessions will be aimed at firms with the capability to operate a Job Corps Center (SIC 8744) and/or provide Outreach/Admissions and Placement services (SIC 8999). Orientation sessions will begin at 8:30 am and conclude by 4:30 pm. Participants will learn about Job Corps, America's premiere youth traininh program, about contracting opportunities and about the procurement process. Job Corps contracts for the operation of residential training centers, outreach, admissions, and placement services, technical assistance and training, and facilities design and construction. Participants for each session must register no later than 7 days prior to the start of that session. Depending on interest, slots may be limited.
