Areas to be painted include the two upstream sector gates of the lock and the associated manatee protection screens. Other repair work on the upstream sector gates includes replacing staunching (seal) angles and bumper blocks; and repairing the 5-foot sections of the nose beams that are corroding. Proposals will be evaluated on price and the following technical factors (in order of importance): technical understanding and performance schedule, experience and past performance, management plan, containment systems and lead abatement plan, equipment and personnel, and extent of subcontracting with small and small disadvantaged businesses.
