The Federal Detention Center, Miami, Florida intends to award a contract for a Medical Assistant to provide services for our Inmate population within the Institution. The services to be provided will be for a maximum of thirty hours per week, equal to 264 sessions (each session is equal to six hours) in a twelve month period. The awarded contractor will provide care in accordance with accepted community standards. Services in general are as follows: (a) monitor & record vital signs (b) prepare patients for physician evaluations/exams (c) obtain laboratory specimens (d) expedite the admission and orientation physical screening process/preliminary patient work-up (e) maintain adequate medical supply levels in the Urgent Care room and patient exam rooms. The individual performing the services will exhibit appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills. The Services will begin on date of award, until contract completion date unless otherwise terminated. The contract will be for one year period with two option years. Services will be provided at the Federal Detention Center, 33 N.E. 4th St., Miami, FL 33132.
