Library of Medicine (NLM) intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis
with Ms. Jiwon P Kim, 2208 Washington Avenue, #301, Silver Spring,
Maryland 20910, under the authority 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1) and FAR
6.302-1(b)(1) for an education component for the NLM's Exhibition
Program. The NLM is expanding its efforts to present thought-provoking
exhibitions to the public. The program is integrating its operations
into the History of Medicine Division's mission and the goals and
objectives of the Library as a whole to expand its consumer health
information initiative. The History of Medicine Division needs an
experienced individual to develop utilization analysis tools, implement
analysis, and summarize results of the process of concepts, text, and
designs for exhibitions with the goal of enhancing public access to and
understanding and interpretation of the materials in the exhibitions.
Ms. Kim has the credentials, specialized experience, expertise, and
other qualifications to provide the requestedservice. Ms. Kim has
developed programs, provided professional and mentoring services and
programs for undergraduates and faculty advisors at higher education
institutes. Ms. Kim has served as managing editor of a science
publication. She has developed workshops, participated in symposia, and
worked on multiple projects simultaneously. The combination of
practical experience of developing programs for the education division
of a science association and the outreach and training skills of a
custom software educator makes Ms. Kim uniquely qualified to provide
the required service. The period of performance shall begin on or about
January 3, 2000 through October 31, 2000. All responsible sources may
submit a proposal which will be considered by the National Library of
