V -- HELICOPTER SERVICES, SOUTHWESTERN OREGON NATIONAL FORESTS SOL R6-15-00-RF101 DUE 020300 POC Dennis Danz, (541) 957-3222 SOURCES SOUGHT; This serves as an INQUIRY AS TO THE AVAILABILTY OF OFFERORS that are both interested and qualified to provide Heavy Lift Rotary Wing Services for the purpose of placement of logs, rootwads, and logs with attached rootwads in streamcourses on the National Forests of Southwestern Oregon. Helicopter shall have a minimum lift capacity of 24,500 pounds. The project requires the Contractor to provide rigging to lift logs off decking areas, transport to stream locations and strategic placement in streams for the purposes of constructing log jams for fish habitat improvement; full aircraft support and all incidental rigging and placement labor is required from the Contractor. The helicopter and pilot must meet Forest Service carding requirements. It is desired that the proposed contract be established on an indefinite quantity arrangement and cover a base period plus two or three option year periods. The on-site work is normally in the months of July through September. Work is in heavily forested areas on the Umpqua, Siskyou and Rogue River National Forests in Southwestern Oregon. The estimated quantity of work is not yet established and is dependent upon funding availability and pending NEPA analysis. For rough yardstick purposes it is anticipated the total value of the three-four years of work will exceed $1 million.
